A Rolling Yellow Bead
I wiggled out from the warm shearling slipper and padded softly toward the kitchen tiles. Near the table leg, a round wooden bead had rolled into the corner. I sat back on my haunches and watched it quietly for a moment. When it stayed completely still, I reached out one paw to nudge it gently. It gave a hollow click and rolled across the smooth linoleum, circling my foot before stopping against the baseboard. I tapped it once more, enjoying the smooth, dry click it made against the floor.
