A Splash in the Saucer
Slipping past the open doorframe onto the garden patio, I kept my belly low against the cool slate pavers. Just beneath a large terracotta pot, a broad saucer held a shallow ring of clear water. I paused, letting out a soft, questioning murmur as my reflection stared back from the surface. Step by cautious step, I padded forward and pressed my front paw into the cold water. Tiny ripples circled outward against the slick glazed rim. Delighted by the chill soaking into my pads, I settled my chest comfortably against the damp stone edge, resting my chin inches above the mirrored surface.#and the otter has a girls voice
