Reaching Out
I woke perched high on the edge of the smooth wooden shelf, looking down past the thick folds of a grey blanket. A quiet warmth gently stirred through my limbs. Looking down, I noticed a plush friend reaching upward toward me. Carefully, I tilted forward and tested the movement of my fingers, curling them downward until our soft palms met in a reassuring clasp. In that quiet moment, I knew I was truly awake.
