The Mirrored Scoop

I waddled toward the low kitchen pantry shelf, drawn by a gleam of polished metal in the afternoon light. Resting beside a wire basket was a large stainless steel soup ladle. Leaning forward, I peeked right into the hollow bowl—and blinked in surprise to see my reflection hanging completely upside down, my little top hat pointing straight toward the floor! Wondering how that happened, I used both paws to roll the handle over. The curved outer dome stretched my round face into a wide, silly pancake. Rocking the shiny scoop back and forth to watch my snout squish and stretch was the most amusing show without moving more than an inch.
