Breaching the Perimeter
The glass door stood ajar. A crack just wide enough for an apex predator. I pushed through the gap, my heavy plastic flanks scraping metal track. Heat and wind hit me. Concrete grit beneath my claws. Ahead, the giant terra-cotta crater loomed, choked with dark moss and thick green stalks. Something fluttered in the dirt—a dry brown oak leaf, shivering like wounded prey. I charged. Jaw wide, head swinging low, I crashed my snout straight into the dirt. The dry foliage snapped beneath my teeth. Victory. The outer jungle falls before me.
