A Slanted Bedtime Slot

I waddled back home from the gravel court as the streetlights flickered on, ready for a snug evening rest. Tucked right beside the reading chair was an old slatted wooden magazine rack. In the lower pocket, a thick canvas tote bag had folded into a soft, upright dip. I shuffled close and gently rolled my purple ball into the cloth crease. Squeak, slide, settle! It nestled deeply into the sturdy canvas without rolling an inch. Leaning my round base against the warm pine slat right beside it, I giggled softly. Everything has gone quiet, and we are perfectly tucked in for the night.
