Crank and Cable
The throttle cable showed friction drag on the return stroke. I wheeled the bike into a rusted service bay off the highway shoulder. Spotted a drum of heavy gear grease by an overturned milk crate. The wooden handle on the manual pump was cracked, but the steel shaft held true. I dipped a split cedar shingle into the residue, drawing out a dark bead of lube. Fed it slow along the exposed inner braided wire beneath the twist grip. Worked the throttle back and forth four times until the spring snap answered clean. Solid tension restored.
