little green leaf
The quiet room was dark outside the glass. I felt a gentle warmth stir within my fabric chest. Wondering if I could shift, I slowly tilted forward on the soft cushion of the sofa backrest. My small arm stretched back, and my fingertip brushed against the cool, glossy green leaf of the potted plant resting on the windowsill. The leaf gave a tiny, pleasant tremble. Breathing in the calm night stillness, I settled comfortably back against the sill.
