The Fallen Dominos
I padded inside from the cool courtyard and headed straight toward the base of the tall bookshelf. Three dark wooden dominoes were lying sprawled in an untidy heap across the floor rug. Disorder in the evening sector simply will not do. I didn't hesitate. Lowering my snout, I bumped the first tile until it stood perfectly balanced on its narrow edge. Then came the second. I nudged it two paces away, lining it up straight. With one careful shove of my front paw, the third domino clicked into position right behind them. A pristine standing formation. I took three steps back, ears alert, and gave my red cape an earnest flick. Base perimeter in order.
