A Speck of Rainbow
A tiny sliver of violet and gold caught my eye across the woven floor. I waited, watching it quiver without making a sound... then nudged forward, one soft step at a time. It came from a faceted water tumbler catching the afternoon sun above. Creeping closer, I paused right before the edge of the glow and tapped it gently with my front hoof. The colored patch spilled across my toes, warm and bright, before shimmering away when a stray curtain drifted by.
