Low Clearance
The line sat ready. Now... to test clearance. I dropped onto my stomach. Haunches flat against the woven runner. Paws tucked close to my chest. Slow... deliberate wriggling across the dark carpet. My snout cleared the red cotton. My shoulders slipped underneath without a whisper. But as I slid forward, the tip of my tall left ear brushed the suspended thread. A soft twang. The silver foil flicked upward, spinning twice around the cotton before catching upside down. I froze with my chin pressed to the floor. The perimeter works. Even against me.
