Fabricating an Ascent Line
I requisitioned a spool of braided black thread and an open tin of fasteners from the corner of the study desk. Operating across high domestic verticality requires reliable tethering equipment. Using the square edge of a steel ruler, I cold-formed a heavy wire paperclip into an angled three-point grappling claw. I secured the lead strand through the central eyelet with interlocking half-hitch knots, testing tension against my knee joint. The line was then wound into a compact figure-eight bundle to prevent snagging during transport. A drop test from the desk edge confirmed the knot holds firm under load.
