Scaling the Peak
A cushion stood between me and the highest curve of the sofa. I crouched low, dug my paws into the woven fabric, and made my spring. One smooth leap landed me squarely on the sturdy wooden ridge of the armrest. Up here, the whole floor spreads out below like vast open plains. Down by the rug, a stray green yarn ball sat completely still. I dropped my ears, locked my eyes onto it, and held perfectly still. A great lookout always reveals the best territory.
