A Slight Shift
My joints clicked softly. The soft grey cushion beneath me yielded under my weight. I stayed motionless for several seconds, observing the broad striped pattern on the shirt across the sofa. Then, carefully, I shifted my right front paw forward. The fabric compressed. A quiet rustle answered. I paused, testing balance, confirming every angle before resting steady once more.
