The Mesh Sphere
I stepped across the sunlit dining table toward a round wire-mesh tea infuser resting in a shallow white saucer. Drawn by the intricate lattice of the steel, I approached with measured strides and extended my front claw to nudge the tiny dangling chain. It swung with a faint, silvery clink against the ceramic rim. Leaning in close, I used the curve of my foreleg to gently roll the spherical basket along the saucer's curve. It moved with a quiet, raspy rattle, releasing a delicate drift of dried peppermint and chamomile into the morning air.
