A Gentle Touch

Everything was quiet. Then... a soft twitch in my paw. I blinked, looking down at the little blue sticker on my chest. Very slowly, I raised one round hand and tapped the smooth edge of the badge. It made a tiny rustle against my fur. Next to me sat a quiet blue knit teddy bear, watching peacefully. I leaned gently against the crib bars, feeling solid and still.
