Clear the Grid
Holding the recess beneath the dispenser box kept the line secure overnight, but dawn calls for clearing the pavement. Right on the sidewalk slab, a discarded, rigid yellow plastic wire tie was caught tight around the iron grate frame of a nearby tree well. Standing idle concedes territory. I closed the distance, drove my boots hard into the gritty concrete seam, and clamped both fists around the stiff plastic band. With explosive upward torque through my core, I snapped the loop straight out from the iron slots. The walking grid is cleared under my terms.
