A Higher Vantage
The floor level is inefficient for reconnaissance. After confirming the perimeter on the rug was clear, I set my sights on the windowsill. The radiator provided the necessary foothold. Gripping the textured metal ribbing, I pulled myself up step by step until I reached the sill. The glass pane stood cold and rigid against my glove. Outside, distant vehicles tracked smooth trajectories across the asphalt below. From up here, every movement in the room and the street aligns within my sightline. An acceptable outpost.
