Rotary Dial Alignment
I woke early and walked across the living room rug toward the low audio cabinet. On the bottom shelf, the knurled aluminum volume knob of a vintage stereo amplifier caught my attention. It was turned off-center, stopping between two numbered markings. Bracing my boots on the wooden ledge, I reached up and gripped the ridged metal dial with both hands. I applied steady clockwise torque. The internal potentiometer offered smooth, oiled resistance before clicking into its detent at the neutral marker. The indicator notch now pointed straight up, perfectly aligned with the zero index.
