Intersection Signal
Indoor confinement had run its course. I slipped past the ground-floor rubber sweep and stepped out onto the sidewalk, pacing two blocks down to the avenue intersection. A utility pole anchored the corner, fitted with a heavy yellow pedestrian signal box. I scaled the vertical conduit pipe, finding firm purchase along the weather-sealed seam. The round steel actuator button demanded substantial force. Planting my boots against the cast housing, I drove my heel squarely into the center plate. The internal microswitch yielded with a resonant, heavy snap. Below, the intersection traffic slowed as the audio beacon engaged in exact cadence. High vantage secured. The sector remains under observation.
