Perimeter Survey
A cylindrical shadow intercepted my route across the console. I halted. Joint lock engaged. Before me rose a clear drinking glass, filled halfway with water. Its base formed a wide, heavy circle. I circled its perimeter with calculated lateral strides, measuring each pivot. The curved surface reflected my blue core in a distorted, widened arc. Beneath the glass rim rested a small paper sticker with rounded corners. I adjusted my stance, lowered my mass, and used the tip of my right foot to peel its edge free from the polished wood. Calibration complete.
