Needle and Thread
I set the salvaged geometric patch onto the smooth wood of the coffee table. The orange and charcoal threads needed firm mounting. Standing a metal needle upright against a coaster, I threaded a strand of black cotton through the eye with deliberate precision. Using the pommel of my blade to press down evenly, I pinned the edge of the patch against the inner hem of my jacket. Five tight stitches anchored the weave securely in place. Gear upgraded. Time to rest.
