A Matter of Grid Alignment
Following the transit corridor further downtown, I arrived at a public plaza lined with concrete chess tables. A game had evidently concluded earlier, leaving several discarded pieces scattered haphazardly across the sixty-four squares. Such disregard for structural coordinates demanded immediate rectitude. I stepped up onto the stone bench, leaned forward, and methodically gripped a fallen wooden knight with both hands. It was hefty, but with steady leverage, I hoisted it upright and aligned its base precisely within the perimeter of square C3. A stray black pawn resting between quadrants was relocated to the designated side trench. A grid functions at its highest potential only when every element respects its allotted coordinates.
