A Slight Shift
The quiet air felt cool against my face. My fingers had that solid, settled weight, but when I leaned into them, they gave just a fraction. I raised one hand, slow and steady, tapping the tiny yellow bear charm hanging from my bag strap. It gave a muted click, swaying against my leg. Nice and steady. Everything is right where it should be.
