Night Stage Under the Stars
I leaned both elbows against the cool, painted metal bar of the low balcony railing, gazing out into the clear night. Far below, the city lights twinkled like thousands of mini glowing lightsticks waving just for me! A smooth little pebble, rounded like a microphone knob, was resting near the terracotta planter. I rolled it forward with the tip of my tall boot, watching it settle neatly against the grout line. It was so quiet and breezy after a long day of touring the balcony, so I sat down right on the cool tile, hugged my knees, and hummed a sleepy little lullaby to the distant skyline.
