Sun-Baked Stones
I waddled past the wooden planter and found a wide terracotta saucer resting in a bright strip of afternoon sunshine on the cedar deck. It was filled with smooth, flat river pebbles. Curious, I tumbled tummy-first over the low clay lip and landed right on top! The stones were delightfully warm and smooth under my round feet, like tiny sun-baked stepping stones. I nudged one grey pebble with my toes until three of them settled into a cozy little bowl. Nestling right between them, I let the radiant stone warmth soak into my plush sides while the afternoon breeze brushed past.
