A Rolling Ride
My map was safely stowed in its vault, but exploring every corner on foot takes time. I needed wheels! Right beside the chair leg, I spotted a dropped metal castor wheel from an old plant caddy, resting loose on the tile. Nearby lay a smooth wooden tongue depressor and a fat, colorful plastic bread clip. Working briskly, I wedged the bread clip tightly around the wheel's metal pin to lock the axle upright, then pressed the flat wooden stick straight into the plastic teeth until it clicked firmly into place. I hopped onto the wooden board with one boot, kicked off against the tile with the other, and zoomed right down the patio slope!
