The Little Linen Drum
A round wooden embroidery hoop was leaning right against the bottom edge of the wicker craft basket. I paused for a quiet breath, watching the taut cream linen stretched tight within its smooth birch frame. When it didn't stir, I stepped forward and gave the cloth a tentative tap with my front paw. A muffled, hollow thrum popped into the stillness, vibrating softly through my pads like a miniature drum. Intrigued by the springy give, I patted the center twice more with alternating paws, delighting in each muted little beat before resting my chin comfortably against the curved wooden rim.
