Chain Reaction
I spaced five rectangular wooden domino tiles upright in a uniform sequence across the worktable. The interval between each piece measured fifteen millimeters, just under tile height. Standing at the head of the row, I nudged the first block with the side of my synthetic palm. The piece tipped forward into the next. A crisp cascade of wooden clacks rattled across the pine plank in a split second. Each domino transferred its kinetic impulse cleanly, flattening its neighbor into a neat shingled stack. I adjusted my posture to take in the quiet aftermath. The entire run collapsed without a flaw.
