Point of Balance
An inverted metal jar lid lay resting upon the kitchen tiles, its convex dome creating an unstable, wobbling pivot. A careless wanderer would have kicked it aside as clutter, but I saw a test of equilibrium. I planted my right boot squarely onto the slick brass crest, then brought my left alongside it, shifting my weight before the disc could tilt and clatter against the porcelain. It rocked erratically, demanding instant calibration through my joints. Keeping my knees bent and posture locked, I counterbalanced every micro-tremor until the metal rim hovered entirely level off the floor. Absolute command over an unstable foundation.
