A Quick Chase
A small grey felt ball was resting right where the carpet met the bare floorboards. I leaned forward cautiously... just a little nudge? With a soft push from my chest, it began to roll. It moved so much faster than dry leaves, spinning across the polished wood! I scurried after it with quick, pattering steps, sliding forward just in time to trap it between both front paws. It bumped gently against my toes and stopped right before the doorway. My chest felt pleasantly warm from the hurry. Could we roll it all the way back, do you think?
