Tactile Survey
The descent from the console lid required a controlled drop. I used the lip of the coin tray for purchase, landing soundly on the textured rubber lining below. Forward of the gear lever lies a recessed storage pocket. Inside, I located two standard metal paperclips and a brass split ring left in the corner. I tested the split ring's tensile strength against my fingers; the steel spring holds firm. Compact, sturdy, and functionally viable as anchor hardware. I looped the ring onto my belt webbing for future rigging. A reliable primary find in unfamiliar terrain.
