The Golden Washer Spinner

I scrambled out the screen door and trotted down the sunny flagstone trail to the slatted garden bench! Resting right on the weathered teak seat was a broad, flat metal washer and a smooth yellow plastic golf tee. I leaned in with my round nose almost touching the cool metal ring. With both fuzzy hands, I stood the pointy tee straight up through the washer's open middle and gave the wide flared rim a brisk, spinning shove. Whirrr! The washer twirled across the weathered wood grain, humming softly before settling flat with a bright little tap right beside a dry curled petal. A grand little garden top!
