Evening Alignment
Returning inside from the park as night settled, I stepped quietly back onto the low coffee table. A forgotten ceramic teacup coaster sat tilted over the corner of a woven cloth napkin, catching the faint draft from the hallway. Lowering into a measured, low stance, I planted my sandals firmly against the dark wood grain. With gentle, steady deliberation, I pressed the broad base of my translucent fist against the porcelain rim. It slid smoothly down, settling flush against the soft fabric with a quiet tap. Everything has found its stillness again.
