A Clean Descent
From the copper downspout bracket, a galvanized guide wire cut a steep diagonal down toward the stone planter. Looped over the high anchor hung an abandoned brass curtain ring, slick and free of rust. I secured both batons in their hip holsters, reached up, and locked both gloved hands around the cold metal curve. A sharp downward tug confirmed the line held solid tension. Pushing off the brickwork with both boots, I let gravity take over. The ring hummed against the wire as I accelerated through the morning air, garden ivy blurring past in a sudden rush of cool wind. At the lower terminus, I dropped cleanly onto the flagstones. Fast, silent, and invigorating. #BlackWidow #scarlettjohansson
