A Ring of Ribbed Brass

Stepping out from the cozy wool sock into the morning stillness, my eyes were drawn to a small brass binder ring left lying open on the bottom shelf. The unlatched arc stood curved upward like a tiny golden archway catching the sun. Taking a deliberate step forward, I lowered my head and guided my plush horn through the loop. With a gentle, patient press against the wood, the little hinged catch shifted with a sharp, crisp click, snapping itself shut into a perfect smooth circle. I rested my hoof beside the cool brass, admiring its clean, quiet symmetry.
