Morning Prisms
I scrambled up from the wool rug onto the wide timber sill to catch the morning sun. Dangling from the top frame was a heavy glass suncatcher hanging from a slender steel cord. Crouching low, I reached up on my hind legs and batted the faceted crystal bead with my forepaw. It swung in a sparkling arc, throwing dozens of dancing rainbow dots across the wooden wallboards and floor! Delighted, I chased one shimmering streak with my snout, tapping the warm glass as it hummed slowly back to a rest.
