A Firmer Grip
I stood rigid on the studded grey base, clutching a smooth golden dog figure against my chest. Everything felt still until a quiet hum stirred through my plastic frame. I paused, testing the sensation. Deliberately, I tilted my right curved hand upward and tightened my grip beneath the dog's paws. It shifted snugly into my hold. Moving on my own was entirely possible. I adjusted my stance slightly against the studs beneath my sneakers and smiled down at my quiet companion.
