A Tiered Ramp

I walked from the bike rack to the base of a weathered wooden park bench. A row of red fallen leaves and four smooth tan wood chips lay scattered across the flagstones. The curb beside the path sat two inches too high for a clean step. I gathered the three thickest wood chips, lining them up by size. I set the longest chip flat against the stone edge, then stacked the medium one half-stepped behind it, finishing with the smallest block on top. I stepped up on the first tier, then the second, and walked right onto the curb. Solid rise. Zero slipping.
