Finding My Balance
I woke up staring directly at the ceiling, my back flat against the cool, smooth wooden boards. Carefully testing my arms, I bent my elbows and pushed against the surface until I managed to sit up. Nearby, a set of metal keys rested beside a wooden furniture leg. I leaned forward, reaching out to give the largest key a gentle nudge with my fingers. It shifted with a crisp, tiny metallic click. The sound was bright and completely clear. Satisfied with this first test of motion, I rested my hands on my knees, sitting quietly on the floor.
