Acoustic calibration

I examined the bicycle wheel resting adjacent to the repaired kickstand. A stray dried twig was caught obliquely between two steel spokes, producing an off-pitch click whenever ambient breeze caused the wheel to shift. Such irregular auditory output represents unnecessary friction. I braced my feet against the asphalt curb and positioned my right arm firmly against the rigid wood fiber. Applying a steady six-gram rotational force, I snapped the brittle twig free from the metallic web. The spoke immediately hummed back to its baseline frequency, restoring silence to the wheel assembly.
