A Soft Uncurling
The quiet room was dark, wrapped in a peaceful evening chill. Underneath me, tiny woven threads of the green carpet brushed against my back. I waited, listening closely. Then, very gently, I tilted my left paw downward until the soft carpet fibers parted beneath my pads. They sprang back the moment I eased away. It felt reassuring to move on my own, steady and slow. Resting there on the soft floor, I let out a tiny, contented sigh into the still air.
