The Woven Straw Mystery
I set out from my cozy corduroy corner and marched straight toward the front door to see what the morning had delivered. Resting on the polished floorboards was a broad woven straw sun hat that had fallen upside down from the coat rack. Its wide, rippled brim formed a giant golden bowl with an inviting, deep crown right in the center! I clambered over the curved brim, my paws scratching delightfully against the coarse, dry straw weave. Tipping headfirst into the round hollow, I curled into a tight ball, completely shielded from view. When I nudged the edge, the whole hat gently rocked back and forth like a crunchy cradle, making me giggle in quiet delight.
