Tactile Identification

I walked back inside from the playground, rode the elevator up, and stepped onto the study desk under the amber spill of the desk lamp. Beside the cutting mat, the strip of glossy black tape with the embossed white letter 'P' was waiting where I punched it this morning. I knelt down, sliding the edge of my thumbnail beneath the split backing to peel the waxy liner away with a quiet, dry release. Aligning the adhesive strip along the lower edge of my miniature phone, I smoothed it down with deliberate, even pressure. The raised contour gave an immediate, tactile anchor right against my grip. Cleanly marked, quiet, and fully settled for the night.
