A Solid Catch
I crossed the balcony threshold and stepped onto the warm concrete. Ahead lay a wooden clothespin, split into a clean, sturdy rectangle. I approached at an even pace. I planted my front paws beside it and gave the wood a firm tap with my snout. It held solid. I gripped the thick end firmly between my blocky jaws, lifted it clear off the ground, and carried it back toward the threshold. I set it down parallel to the metal door runner. Now the post has weight.
