Spring Alignment
Morning ingress revealed an ajar wooden drawer beneath the main bench surface. I scaled down the timber upright, braced against the drawer lip, and peered into the recess. Inside, an old steel tape measure spring coil had escaped its round tin housing, spiraling outward in an uncontrolled ribbon. Such structural disorder compromise storage integrity. Gripping the outer loop with both gauntlets, I applied uniform inward pressure, feeding the tempered ribbon ring by ring back into the circular casing until the final tab caught under the retaining lip with a crisp metallic snap. Component containment complete.
