Touching Down on the Coir

I gripped the tensioned twine anchor, swung clear of the pine rail, and controlled my descent down the leather boot's sturdy collar. Kicking off from the rounded toe, I dropped the final centimeters straight onto the dense, bristle-packed coir doormat. The landing was solid; the stiff coconut fibers held my boot treads without sinking. Right ahead, the folded paper card rested on its edge like an angled bunker wall, blocking the bright draft cutting beneath the front door sweep. I reached out and tapped the crisp cardboard crease with one gloved knuckle to confirm its stability. Ground level secured.
