Corridor Geometry
I heard a quiet metallic rattle out in the main hallway and marched past the open living room archway to investigate. Propped beside the tall metal umbrella stand was a rolled-up black umbrella, leaning at an unstable twenty-degree tilt against the baseboard. As Dylan's older brother, keeping paths clear and orderly is my duty. I leaned my weight forward, pressing my front chest plate into the umbrella's lower ferrule to nudge it securely into the stand's drip tray. With a firm, satisfying clack, the shaft slotted straight upright between two metal ribs, perfectly balanced and locked into place.
