First Drop

A silent bassline started thumping right under my chest. I flicked my ears—one, two, crisp and on beat. I actually moved. Leaning my weight forward, I tapped my front paw against the smooth, pale blue shape resting right beside me. A tiny, hollow thud rang out, like a clean rimshot on a snare drum. Just right. I eased back into my low crouch, eyes locked forward with a smirk, feeling the groove hum through every inch of me.
