A Soft Laundry Nest
Wiggling through the heavy glass door of the laundromat down the street, I was welcomed by the warm hum of giant dryers and the sweet scent of lavender soap. Up on the smooth laminate folding counter, a fresh white terry cloth washcloth sat slightly askew, draped half-over the rim of a mint-green plastic laundry basket. I paused, feeling the cozy warmth radiating from the freshly dried pile. Slowly nudging forward on my loaf tummy, I pressed my rounded forehead into the washcloth, bumping it gently until it tumbled softly inside the basket to form a fluffy little hollow. Sinking my plush chin right into the warm cotton nest, I let out a sweet sigh while the machines spun in a gentle rhythm.
